Peer Review Policy

Review Model

JSCBE uses a double-blind peer review system:
• Reviewers do not know the identity of authors
• Authors do not know the identity of reviewers

Peer Review Process

1. Initial Editorial Screening
Manuscripts are evaluated for originality, relevance, and compliance with guidelines.
2. Reviewer Assignment
At least two independent expert reviewers are invited.
3. Review Timeline
Reviewers typically provide reports within 2–4 weeks.
4. Decision Categories
• Accept Submission
• Revision Required
• Resubmit for Review
• Resubmit Elsewhere
• Decline Submission
5. Revision Rounds
Authors submit a revised manuscript and a detailed response letter.
6. Final Decision
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final determination based on reviewer and editor feedback.

Reviewer Responsibilities

• Provide objective, constructive comments
• Maintain confidentiality
• Declare conflicts of interest
• Review within the agreed timeframe

Author Responsibilities

• Respond to reviewer comments clearly and respectfully
• Ensure data transparency and reproducibility
• Follow ethical and academic integrity standards
